50th International Tilawah Al-Quran 2008 @ Pulau Wan Man Terengganu - The Result!

I am watching Tilawah Al-Quran on Astro Oasis channel. Just now the 3 presenters (for Malay, Arabic, English and French languages) had announced the Qari and Qariah of the 50th International Tilawah Al-Quran 2008 . And they are Mr Mu'min Mubarak from Indonesia and Mrs Fatimoh Ha'rati from Thailand. They did recite beautifully with the score of 91.5 and 92.83 respectively if I'm not mistaken. Even though our Qari didn't win the men category at least our Qariah did sit on the second runner-up. Congratulation to Miss Sharifah Khasif Fadzilah! However, I would like to congrat our Qari, Mr Shamsul Arifin Supian for trying. These year tilawah shows a big improvement with the increase of 62 talented contestants from 38 countries.

And owh! Datuk HAji Hassan Azhari was selected as TOkoh Al-Quran 2008! Congratulation! I remember I watched him teaching Quran in a programme called Muqaddam every evening when I was a small kid. And he's still in good health until now. I think that's the secret of keeping a good health, QUran recitation! I always pray for his good health and hope he will continue to teach the youngsters to recite Quran. He is a great teacher.

Anyway, kudos to Malaysia for holding the event successfully without fail.
